Trapping dreams with ink and paper

Christopher Laundy - Fantasy Author

Raised in rural Western Australia, Christopher Laundy escaped into his imagination at an early age and stayed longer than he should. Tolkien stole his heart first, ensuring his lifelong love for fantasy.

As a Sydney-based clinical psychologist, he’s seen the many ways a human heart can break, but he’s also seen how it can heal. These experiences have deeply influenced his writing, providing authentic emotional depth to the page-turning action and adventure. Much of this and more is woven into his debut fantasy novel, 'Elderflower'.

In his spare time, Christopher writes songs no one wants to hear, attends church, and daydreams.

He’s confident he will die one day.

Elderflower

Ridian is stuck in Mudwall, a clay mine on the edge of the known world, haunted by the supernatural terrors of a deadly swamp. The seventeen-year-old bastard is also cursed with the silver-flecked eyes of a Caveborn, dooming him to homicidal insanity.

When his twin sister mysteriously disappears, Ridian must persuade the outlaw Tann to help him venture into the perilous wasteland to hunt down the sinister forces at play.

But neither Tann nor the Mire are what they seem, and if Ridian is to save his sister, he must master Soulcasting, a strange magic of splitting soul from body.

'Elderflower' is due for release early 2025.

“To unleash your Soul, you must embrace pain and face your deepest fears. To become a Soulcaster, you must be willing to die.”
